So I got my e36 track car project started up today with the new head. The engine fires right up but quickly stalls. If I feather the throttle I can keep it alive but it occasionally backfires through the intake manifold. I found a vaccum leak and fixed it but the car still dies. It does try to idle now but will die after a few seconds. Anyone have any ideas what can be causing this? I though maybe the timing was off but took the valve cover off, turned the crank to tdc and everything looks perfect. I'm stumped

Still has vacuum leak(s). Smoke testing is the easiest way to find them.
