So I was filling my car up with gas last night. As the gas was pumping in, I decided to go into the car and reset the MPG and MPH parts of the on board computer. I happen to scroll through the function where it tells you how many miles you can travel before running out of gas. And the numbers actually increased, continually, as the gas was filling up. Not shocking, but it amused me. Anyone else ever notice that?

Yes, also in my manual for my A6, Audi warned of false readings if I re-fueled with the key on.

I've seen no such warnings in the BMW manual. I know the Audi had 3 fuel level sensors in the gas tank, and I guess fueling with them on effects the computer program:dunno: :dunno:

It probably uses the gals-in-tank reading to compute this, and if I have it in diag mode on that screen it will go up in real time as I fill the gas, so figure as long as the car is on its always computing this.
