That may be the energy equivalent involved, but factor in momentum transfer and the compression of the vehicle(s) involved and it's not quite like that...

But yeah, square functions are a bitch. :)

t=(2d/a)^-2 v=at or d=1/2 at^2 and t=v/a

In English units, a=32 ft/sec^2. For metric a = 9.8 m/sec^2. For reference 60 MPH = 88 feet per second. 100KPH = 27.8 m/s

So 60 MPH = about 121 feet or about 12 stories.

Difference with momentum transfer and compression do play a part, but you are still going to hurt wihtout a seatbelt. :)
