Can't help you but which speck doc did you purchase? They don't list one as being compatible with our x3s.

PA12-BMW They're out of production and getting hard to find.

I've had a Tune2Air plugged into it for several years now which adds a2dp bluetooth from my iPhone to my car. Works like a charm with my original head unit. Phone and music switch seamlessly, music pauses when you turn off the car, stereo, or when a call comes in. All HU and steering wheel controls work for skipping songs. No text on the display but I don't care for that anyway. I'm using my aux cord for now which works but not nearly as seamlessly and integrated as the a2dp.

Heading out on a 3,300 mile road trip in a few days and wanted to get it working be fore then but alas I don't think it'll happen. Maybe have to see if the dealer installed unit will work. Gonna talk it over with my SA when we get back.

I just got an '05 X3 this past Spring & it appears to have the original stock head unit. I know I don't have a cd changer but are there still the "wiring" for one that I could plug in to a USA-Spec for my iPod? I've got one in my E36 & my wife's E46 in the trunk but WHERE are the cables in the E83? Thanks!
