BMW is sending over a team of engineers from Germany w/ prototypes of a new gas pedal design. They're going to install it in cars at their headquarters in New Jersey to get people's feedback. If all goes well, they'll put the new design into product and start installing it around May.

Cool! :thumb: I wish they had been THAT responsive in regards to my steering retrofit. Anyway, now that I'm "used" to it, I don't really want anybody messing with it...

I don't have that problem with the gas pedal. It looks like it gets worse as the temperature increases. Well, I live in FL, so it's not like it's ever cold here... I guess I'm lucky... :D
Actually, i also used Bill Stuart to get my steering retrofit- since I already had his contact info for the sticky gas pedal. He was able to get the whol thing sorted for me in about 1 day. Seems like a great guy-- helpful, actually follows up, and has authority to get stuff done. Any consumer product company tends to have people like that-- they're several rungs up from the telephone operator customer service people, and have near autonomous authority to address customer complaints. The challenge is always finding them.
An aside:
I was talking to someone I work with and found out that she used to work as a Field customer service representative for Toyota. She was one of those people that goes to dealers and talks to customers w/ problems that the dealer can't solve. She told me that she had complete authority to replace any part, deny or accept warranty claims, replace an entire car, etc. she said that the more angry and irate customers rarely got what they wanted. So- be nice to your customer service people if you want to get stuff done...
Agree. Always be polite 1st. It will get you further. If, that doesn't work then you may have to become irate.
Bill definitely gets things done. Last year, my aux fan died right before the time the re-recall of the Siemens happened, and there were no fans of any kind to be found anywhere. Within a week of Bill getting a hold of me, I had a brand new Bosch expressed from Germany and installed in my car. :thumb:
Can one of you guys PM me contact info for one of those nice guys you mentioned above? Maybe I'll try to get my steering retrofit once more...
