Anyone have any experience with the K&N filter and the K&N Intake Kit (Bavarian Autosport Power Flow Intake Kit)?

I had put in a K&N filter with my 99 Maxmia SE and got a fair boost. Just wondering what kind of impact this would have on my 325i.

Any experience with the Bavarian Autosport Performance Chip?

or is it basically dinan/ac schnitzer or nothing?

My understanding is that it makes noise, lets more dirt in and maybe gets you a hp or two at the top end.
