Anyone know what all the features are on the 3 button key and what button presses do what?
I know you can do a lot of things with it if you know how to use it.

If you don't have an owners manual...you can downoad one inf PDF format directly to your CPU where you can access it 24/7. :) You can find them at the bottom of the left column at www.e38.org/e39 ...if your model year is NOT listed....then dlownload the closest model year...you won't miss a thing.

3 button remote will:
  1. lock button - (double) locks the car (FZV) central locking system (doors/trunk/fuel filler door) & arms the (DWA) anti-theft alarm siren system activating its sensors (doors/trunk/hood/motion/tilt) & (EWS) immobilization system (shuts down ignition/fuel/timing/starter).
    • press twice - disables the interior motion sensor & tilt sensor
    • *press & hold - will roll up any open window & close the sunroof * (standard/optional in some BMW markets & can ONLY be turned on by aftermarket hardware/software in the USA)
  2. unlock button - unlocks the central locking system (FZV) & unarms the DWA & EWS systems
    • press & hold - will remotely roll down the windows and open the sunroof
  3. trunk button - remotely opens trunk
    • press & hold - will initate the PANIC MODE and sound the DWA alarm siren

Awesome, thanks for the quick response.
One question. The windows all roll down when the unlock is held however they wont roll up when the lock is held... Whats up with that? Am I doing something wrong?

EDIT: Just noticed the "(standard/optional in some BMW markets & can ONLY be turned on by aftermarket hardware/software in the USA)"
How do I get this option?

BTW...you can get the windows/sunroof to roll down & roll up if you stick the key into the driver's door lock cylinder and turn & hold the key in either the lock/unlock position. It's the same operational feature that works "remotely"... except the "manually activated roll up/ roll down" features are both activated here in the STATES when you insert the key into the lock cylinder.

I believe there is info in the sticky DIY/FAQ/best link threads on the hardware/software needed to activate the remote application of this feature. So, if for some reason you get out of the car, then notice that a window or the sunroof is open and you prefer it closed...you don't have to get back into the car and insert the key into the ignition...you can stand right at the driver's door and insert the key into the lock cylinder, turn & hold the key clockwise (to the right) and the windows/sunroof will close. :)
