Hello fellow bimmer owners,

My husband's old 2001 330i is now missing the front passenger side grill.

I was grocery shopping on Thursday only to come out and find the grill missing! Who does that?

Was wondering if anyone had an old grill because they had perhaps replaced the originals with something more custom. I'd buy them off of you.

Otherwise, does anyone have a suggestion on who to cheaply replace.

It looks like our car got one of its front teeth knocked out;)

Thanks for your support and ideas!

It is a bad design from factory, not very secure, yours might have fallen off by itself.

Buy used on ebay or local junk yard for cheap.

Then once in, add a few zip ties to help hold it in place, this is what I did.

Thanks for the reply. I am still suspicious it was theft because I was parked right outside an auto parts store.

But hey...either way it's gone;) Heading to ebay now.

Don't buy knockoff stuff.

BMW Genuine $65.
Used BMW (ebay) $20.

Once in with the hood raised, I drilled a few holes in each grille, on the solid part of the grille.
This is the hidden part inside the hood, so you don't even see the zip ties from outside.
Zip ties x 2 to join the R and L grilles together.

They will not fall off by itself.
This (zip ties) makes theft harder.

"Cheaply replace" from RockAuto. Ones from salvage yard will be over 15 years old and have brittle plastic: likely to fall off again. I don't usually like replica parts, but one of these grilles for under $20 is still on our E46 after about seven years.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will look for used on ebay and if no luck will turn to a replica.
Cannot pour any money in this old beater;)

- Never know what you find from salvage yard. The P.O. might have installed a brand-new part.

- Ebay: some E46 parts come from garaged cars and are in fact very good.
