According to Kris' FAQ, there are six digits after the factory letter. I took a look at mine and there is a letter and 5 digits after the factory letter.

Am I missing something?

Nope all normal Dave, the last six of my vin is M00053

What I'd like to know is, are these numbers really sequential. Does this mean I have the 53'rd US spec 330i for 2002?

I doubt they're sequential. Mine is something like 25525.. I picked up in early December..
