The lease numbers on the BMWUSA.COM site have changed again. It read 470 for the coupe and 455 for the sedan with 2500 down.

Have end of month residuals come in or is this just a correction to the previously high numbers.

$455/mo for the sedan? This would be rather unlikely if this is for the 330. The numbers at the bmwusa site are worthless, don't bother with them. They are magic numbers that change almost daily, while the numbers from BMW only change monthly - this tells you how accurate they are. I once put together an M3 with navi for $610/mo with only $1K down. If this were the case I would be driving one right now.

Instead, use a leasing calculator and plug some real numbers in. The lease payments on 3-series cars have gone up substantially over the course of the year (residual has gone down, money factor initially went down but now has been going back up). BMW releases their altered numbers towards the beginning of each month if there are any changes.

Currently a 12k/yr lease over three years leaves you a 60% residual for the 330ci (15k/yr leaves 59%), with the BMWFS base money factor being .0021 (almost every dealer adds to this). If you run your numbers based on the above factors, you will get a much better idea of what you might really pay.

Hope that helps,

My payments were considerably higher than the ones quoted on the bmwusa site. :bawling:

This was a very unpleasant surprise. I wish BMWNA would either fix the leasing section of their site so the numbers are more accurate (how difficult could this be?!) or dump it entirely.

my most recent lease quote actually matches their current numbers exactly.

still kinda high.

looking for an increase in the residual to 62%. doubt it's gonna happen.

I wish I would have ordered sooner. I'm always overly-cautious when I make decisions like this. I have been planning to order a 330Ci for about a year now and I have had the funds to do so... I just had to research the thing to death before making the commitment I guess.

By waiting, I got what I deserved! ;)

yes, Alee

I want to trade it in, but BMW is giving me a lot of trouble with the deal. They want to pretty much make me pay for a brand new car including dealer profit, all lease fees ($725+), etc...

I can afford it, but it doesn't feel good to do it.

We have a 2001 Z3 3.0 and my 2001 330i. I've referred a lot of customers who have bought cars, and they know full well that young professionals are not people to burn bridges with because they will come back and buy other cars.

Pretty much, the bickering is over approximately $1000 or less. I refuse to pay new fees to replace a "defective" or "faulty" product that I did not damage or misuse.

BMW NA is a joke. They don't return emails or phone messages regularly. I call about six times before anyone gets back.

In the interim, a factory rep is looking at the car this frdiay to try and possibly solve the problem. I know the rack is defective and they should replace it under warranty. That would be the right thing to do and I'd live out the reaminder of the lease (24 months).

I've priced out a new black/black 330ci with SP/PP/xenons/hs. Beautiful car but dealer is still marking it up $2000 despite the above mentioned loyality to the brand.

Still no resolution. And I refuse to pay for a new rack myself. It's just the damn principle of it all!

Thanks for inquiring.

Are you dealing with Otto's still? If so, I'm surprised they haven't been more flexible with you and helped you with your problems. My guy there, Rich Horowitz, has pretty much guaranteed himself another sale, no questions asked.

No, but I may contact him tomorrow at your recommendation. My guy at Classic is excellent, but this situation hasn't brought out the best numbers.

What would you do? (need opinion)

Honestly, if the deal doesn't make you comfortable, stick with what you have. 24 months isn't that long, and you could be stepping into something much better after that period. At least that's the way I'd look at it. Unless you absolutely hate your car and think there's something wrong with it.

In that case, have you spoken with Bill Stuart at BMW NA? If not, drop me an email ([email protected]). I'll give you his number. Bill makes things happen. :thumb:

Also, have you explored your theory re: Dunlop tires? I remember you were considering trying Dunlops to see how they changed your ride.

If you want to talk numbers, here's my sales contact at Otto's...
Rich Horowitz at Otto's BMW (610) 399-4169

Tell him Albert Lee in the Orient Blue 330Ci sent you. He should remember me. Explain your situation to him... hopefully he can help you out. He really took care of me.

I replaced all 4 tires with S-03's a couple of weeks ago. The dead spot in the steering and the instability at highway speeds is still there. Just got back from JFK airport on Saturday and the car felt so uncomfortable at highway speed that the trip was painful.

I've contacted more than one BMW NA rep at their corporate office and no seems to care to solve this problem. It seems that they invest a lot in what the factory rep has to say. So if this guy doesn't think my car should have a new rack, then they say that's it...end of problem...no more discussion.

Well, I figure a lot of people spend a lot of money on aftermarket stuff. I generally keep cars stock until the warranty runs out and then invest in upgrades. I can write off this huge loss if I get the coupe (approximately $4,200 lost in the transaction) to experience to never mess with "perfection".

I'm very hesitant to pay for a replacement rack because of the outside possibility that it doesn't cure the problem and something else is amiss like the pump or electronic hardware. Besides, I shouldn't have to, especially on a lease car. If I owned this car, I'd shoot myself!! Worst case scenario is to give it back!

RChoudry,

Are you a member of the BMWCCA? If so, they have a club ombudsmen service that will serve as an intermediary for members unable to resolve problems with manufacturers, dealers, repair shops, parts suppliers, and others. Maybe they would be of some benefit.

I just ran my numbers into the BMW site and it matches my future payment almost to the dollar. This surprises me since I paid 1K over dealer invoice for my car. Something doesn't look right. I better check my numbers with the dealer again.
