Getting ready to refresh the suspension.
First time I’ve ever done this on any of my E 39’s and this one’s up first.
Anything, good, bad, or indifferent on either of these brands? I’m going to keep this one, so I wanted to make sure I got the best bang for the buck suspension wise between these two brands only.
I do not do not do not want to start another OIL discussion… LOL
TIA!

Lemforder was OE……
Thought so. Know anything about FCP Euro lifetime warranty? Thanks!

Yes, I know FCP has a lifetime warranty.

I have never used it. I have seen posts by folks claiming to have returned used oil, brake pads, etc., etc..
Roger that. I had read that they had changed their policy. A little more stringent than before but I was trying to confirm that. Thanks!

Under the old policy, you buy a part. Use it until worn out or breaks. Buy new one. Send old part back then eventually get your money back.

Unfortunately it was not a sustainable model, and many abused the program. Especially those with oil returns. I always thought it was stupid that they warrantied that.

As of November 1st, 2022. All order warranty returns will now be credited back as store credit only. Orders placed before that date can still be requested for cash refund. And you only get credited back the original amount you paid for the part. So if you bought a part before the change for $120 and it's now $300. You only get the $120 back. But if it's reversed as in the part was originally $300 an now $120. You get the $300 back.

A year ago I bought the Lemforder tie rod kit with both the left and right in the kit with the two boots from FCP specifically to have German made parts but one was made in Germany and the other Malaysia. The website still says made in Germany. There is a noticeable difference in the steel.
Attached is a photo of my purchase.
With my front completed I am now gathering the parts for the rear and I am also wondering about doing the rear with some Meyle or TRW or other parts instead of the old Lemforder. ZF aftermarket owns the TRW,Lemforder and Sachs brands.

I can’t make much of a comparison with the parts in the plastic packaging.

It's because TRW has parent companies - Sachs , Lemfoerder , ZF, etc ....
Lemforder, rear integral link for e39
Made in ... Why? Meyle is the same. Genuine BMW states Germany.

I wouldn't worry too much if the Lemfoerder part is made in china .
Believe me , I hate china garbage . But , supposedly , Lemfoerder has a high standard , and I think a lot of OEM parts are now made in china , unfortunately .
If you want to spend $100 on the genuine part , go for it ... lol .
