Our newly purchased '01 325xi still has the paper temporary license tags stuck on there with adhesive tape.

What screw sizes will I need for the front plate (4 places) & the rear plate (4 places)?

Sorry I don't remember the size, but I took the entire front plate trim with me into Home Depot and matched the size there. I wanted stainless so it wouldn't rust in place. I believe places like AutoZone actually sell these fasteners as well. Good luck.

Thanks, that's what I'm looking for. My state doesn't require a front plate either but as soon as we get the Va temp tags switched to WV, I've got a Bimmer plate to put on the front.

I found a set for a Ford from Autozone that worked just fine. They are gold in color but they work.

There is also a replacment trim piece you can buy to delete the front plate holder if it's not required in your state.

Thanks, but my new Bimmer emblem plate for the front just came in today actually.

I was able to remove three of the four rear plate fasteners, but the fourth one just spins. :tsk:
These fasteners are just screwed into the plastic bracket, right? :dunno:
