Full disclosure, I've been an Audi driver and enthusiast for over 15 years now. Had a B5 S4, two B7 A4s, a MK2 TT S-Line, and a B8 S4 over the years. Most recently, I have been in a Wrangler Rubicon which I absolutely loved as well. I always said I'd enjoy the Jeep for a while until the new B9 S4 came out. I've been waiting...and waiting...and waiting. Well, I got tired of waiting and decided to visit the other side of the fence.

I had driven an 340i MSport earlier in the year for a week and remember really enjoying my time behind the wheel, so I set off to find a Red 340i. I had no idea how hard it was going to be to find any selection of Red and found two in the entire state of Texas.

Luckily, one was equipped exactly as I wanted it and we got a deal done that same day. I've been all smiles since taking delivery. I think I'll really enjoy being on this side of the fence for a while, and look forward to learning a lot from this forum.

Here it is - 2016 Melbourne Red 340i, M Sport with Track Handling Package, DA/DA Plus, Lighting, Nav, 19s, and Cold Weather (Which I still use even in Texas).

OMG!! Absolutely gorgeous!! Congrats. Welcome to the 'fest and to the dark side.

Are you noticing the difference in weight distribution? How do you like the pure RWD?

Thanks everyone. In regards to how it feels compared to my Audis, it's hard for me to say since I traded my S4 back in 2013 and had been driving a Rubicon for the last 40 months. The electric steering is definitely taking a bit of getting adjusted to in terms of learning the feedback to the driver. It's nothing bad, just a bit of a learning curve as it was with the first 911s I drove with electric steering.

Everything else is great though. The brakes are fantastic and I'm very pleasantly surprised by how good the automatic is. My Jeep was the first automatic I had owned in 13 years, but I'm very happy with how the 8-speed performs. The fuel mileage has been great too. I'm hoping to get some spirited driving days done in a few weeks where I'll really get a chance to feel the car out.

As for the fog lights, I'm not sure. I have a feeling it has to do with the adaptive lighting package on it. The skirts are just an appliqué over the existing skirt. Looks like the dealer had ordered the car this way, along with the black grills and illuminated kick plates for the front doors.

Cheers!

Well there it is. I know the nuances of Audis packages but not BMWs. Is this for better cooling as it appears the grill inserts are different? See, I'm learning from you lot already :)

You don't have the track handling package.
