I just finished my call with BMW Customer Service. The rep was courteous and understood my frustration, however, he said he never heard of the problem before and couldn't offer much assistance. I requested to speak to a higher up which I will be getting a call sometime tomorrow. The only thing I was able to accomplish was to submit a complaint of which I said: "I'm deeply disappointed with BMW's, a company that prides itself on quality, decision to, more or less, ignore this widespread problem. Acknowledging this problem will be without a doubt costly, but continuing to turn away from quality issues like this will cost BMW more in the long term."
It's probably a lost cause, but it can't hurt I suppose.
We'll see how tomorrow's call will turn out.
