I get the whine also on my 330Ci when it is REALLY hot and I have the AC pumping . . . I remember a conversation about this like a year ago on the org and I think we determined it was normal

You stated that the problem occurred in hot weather and with the A/C on...

Is a good way to check to see if this is my situation is to turn off my A/C when I hear it? Would it go away then? I can't turn off the hot weather here in Texas though.

The real solution is to consider it normal and forget about it . . . this way it won't bother you

I tend to whine when I have to drive at low speeds, but my car's just fine.

lol, I was waiting for someone to say ' throw your girlfriend out of the passenger seat to get rid of the whine' but I wasn't gonna be the one to say it
