BMW M3 4 door sedan
coming?
The scoop

One of the best cars EVER made,
conspicuously absent from the current BMW
lineup, is a 4 door version of the fabulous
M3.

Available in the previous generation
3-series stable, it is nowhere to be found in
the current round of cars.

Good news is coming!

Our European spies have confirmed the
possibility is extremely high, if not already in
the works, that the next generation M3 will
be available in a four door version.

We think BMW has really missed an
opportunity by not having one currently.
Especially when we see the resale prices
on the wholesale market of the previous M3
sedan.

More details as we receive them.

Of COURSE the next generation M3 will have 4 doors. ALL next generation 3 series will have 4 doors (or 5 if you count the wagons). So obviously ANYTHING badged an M3 will be nothing but a 4 door.

The coupe version will be the M4.

I hope it is out by the time my new lease is up in 3 years. I would probably go for a 540 after my lease, but if a M3 Sedan were out by then, I would seriously consider that. Don't get me wrong, the current M3 coupe is so so sweet, but I still need 4 doors for everday use.

The next M3 Sedan will probably also have a Steptronic Automatic Transmission or SMG, which will also appeal to a lot more people too.

Ms, by definition, no longer come with an auto tranny option. They stopped that years ago. SMG or 6-speed one would think (me being one). Either way, it'd be a toss up between the 540 and M3 sedan...

BMW would *never* (thanks, TD ;) ) put a torque converter in any ///M car.

Oh wait--they did that once, in the E36. :tsk: :tsk: :tsk:
