Hey everyone, This is my first post hereand I have a question regarding a little part that is attached to the intake manifold. I just replaced my starter and pcv system and I notice when I was checking the gasket for the intake manifold that a part was missing. I'm think that it might have been attached to the old gasket which I threw out. They're 6 of them where the small hole for the gasket goes. I tried look for the name or part number but no luck. I'd appreciate any help.

Those sleeves don't even show up on real OEM. They are not sold separately, no part number can be found or associated with them.
They are what I would call Turbulence Bore Sleeves, I don't know if they are pressed in or what but you are not the only one that has lost 1 or more.

You might have to buy a used intake manifold to get replacements, but again, I don't know how they are attached or do they just break off after many heat cycles. Not much info on the interweb about these other than one or more came off when removing the intake manifold gasket (stuck to it) and got unknowingly thrown away.

They are 5.5mm in size and have to do with what is described below.

The M52 TU / M54 intake manifold is known as the resonance / turbulence intake system. The molded plastic intake manifold consists of two sets of three intake runners. Resonance valves are used to vary the length of the runners in order to enhance low end torque at low engine speeds or allow high volume air flow at medium or high engine speeds. The intake manifold is also equipped with a 5.5 mm turbulence port for each cylinder. These ports channel idle and low speed air from the idle speed control regulator to one intake valve in each cylinder. (There are 2 intake valves per cylinder.) Air rushing through one valve causes air swirl and more efficient fuel atomization in the cylinder.

You would have that cylinder not performing correctly at idle and low speed ranges, they are part of the intake manifold for a reason. I would find a replacement cause after doing all that work you want it to run right.

Alright. Im going to see if I can get a used intake manifold. Sucks that those bore sleeves aren't sold separately and you have to buy the whole thing. Oh well, hopefully I can get it soon so I can drive my baby again. Thank you for your help.
