hello,

car has had no issues until i changed out my oil/trans fluid.
uopn first drive the car fell flat on its face, and stalled a few times.

first set of codes were 0011, 0340.
changed out intake side cps with known good one.

started up and idled very choppy.
then received just 0340 by itself.

changed out exhaust side cps with known good one.
same choppy idle, same 0340 code.

any ideas?

How did you determine that the parts were "known good?"

Examine the connectors for any dirt or corrosion.

the sensors were taken off of a running car, same pn#'s

all connections are clean, pulled back rubber boots to check connections, all is good.

the sensors off of the e46 were the same.

changed the oil out with synthetic 0w-40.

huge difference in idle suprisingly, but still ranfomly stalling, and throwing 0340 code.

bmw service knucklehead error #154237.

when removing sensor from port, make sure o-ring comes out with it.

turned out the exhaust cam sensor was bad.
but when re-installing the intake side sensor i noticed it had two o-rings on it. you couldnt tell by the way it seated, but it was enough for it not to function. re installed with single o- ring, and problem solved.

thx for the advice guys.
