And one possible slight twist on this is that the Miata MX-5 with the retractable hardtop is close to release, so it is possible that the ship has a substantial number of those onboard timed to get to the dealers for the release....
Speculation, but potentially interesting.... as the advertising campaign kicks off: NEW! See the amazing new car at your Mazda dealer! Uh, well....ummm... see photos of the new car because the first batch of cars sank at sea.
When the European ship sank the manufacturers didn't want the cars salvaged for parts. I don't recall what was done with the cars once they raised the ship, which I think they did.
I wonder what will happen to all these Mazda's? Budget deals down in TJ? Cut up for parts?
