Greetings...

Anyone have any experience with MGP Caliper Covers? I know the quality/fitment has been upgraded from some of the lesser covers of years past, but I'm still not sure about them. I've used G2 Caliper paint on my previous 330i and was happy with the outcome, but if the MGP product is worthwhile then it's definitely seems like an easier install. Here's the info listed on MGP's site, along with a photo:

• MGP Caliper Covers are laser cut from 6061-T6 aerospace aluminum.
• Bridge union is TIG welded for strength.
• Graphics applied using proprietary CNC high speed engraving techniques.
• Hydraulically formed to fit OEM brake caliper configuration.
• Patented stainless steel fastening system is secured with locking nut.
• High quality powder coated finish for all-weather toughness and durability.

Purely for cosmetic reasons, right? Just ensure the "attachment" is solid, as the caliper takes a lot of heat, vibration and abuse.

They're using some fancy terms to describe something that amounts to a piece of aluminum that snaps over your caliper.

Nope.
1)It could decrease heat dissipation.
2)It could fall off and badness will ensue.
3)It looks like buttocks.

This thread is funny because I just saw these on a new Camaro and thought wow this guy spent some serious money on these huge brakes! Little did I know...

Always wonder why we can't get the BMW labeled black brake calipers for our 335i's like the ones that come on some of the 135i upgrade models?

The BMW calipers look cheap and unfinished, IMO.

+1 Those are really awesome looking

On another note, the MGP says the help brake cooling, but I think that is a blatant lie. How do you improve cooling by restricting air flow even more?

Maybe the covers act like a heat sync. I guess it would depend on how they are mounted.

Thanks for the comments on the caliper covers. I was thinking these weren't for me, but I was also curious on public opinion. I painted the calipers of my previous 330i with G2 epoxy (black) and was happy with the outcome, so I'll probably go this route for my 335i.

Speaking of the 330i I had for sale (for anyone who saw it)...thanks to all for the interest and comments. I had several offers after just a few hours of advertising, and the car sold in less than one day. Much appreciated...
