Well, we finally decided to get rid of the Z3. My best friend is actually gonna take over the reamining 15 months of the lease.

Getting a house in Feb and want to cut down on payments.

The Mini is impossible to find but the RSX is readily available. Both are within $50 of each other's lease payments.

I've had 3 Integras in the past. I think I'm gonna get one.

Any thoughts?

I hold out and get the MINI  but thats just my opinion bottom line you're the one who has to drive what ever you get so its really up to you.....

anyway, I'm not a big fan of either car...
And even if they were the same price, I'd rather have either an RSX or Mini Cooper S than the Z4.

I would choose the MINI. I know you can find one available if you look hard enough.

Westchester MINI always seems to have a lot available from what I've seen on the roadfly MINI board.

AS much as I admire the Mini's styling and driving characteristics, I think I'd actually get an RSX or even a VW GTI over it. The mini is still hard to get, highly priced, and kind of unreliable. It also has a crappy chrysler engine. I just couldn't bear the thought spending the same amount, and knowing that i could've also gotten an Acura with:
-much better reliability
-more space
-slicker shifter
-less harsh ride-- but little compromise in handling
-smoother, better sounding, more powerful, rev-happier engine
-nicer interior (the mini is kind of nice in concept but IMO is a mess of cheap plastic and poor ergonomics in the quest for uniqueness)
I think you could definitley get a top of the line Type S RSX for less than the cost of a Mini cooper S.

or a VW GTI with:
-better reliability
-nicer interior
-smoother, better sounding, more powerful 1.8t or vr6 engine
-less harsh ride, but more of a compromise in handling perhaps.

Whenever I see a Mini, i still want one, but when I think more about it, I just couldn't see spending what they're charging for one.

I get the idea that he's looking for something that's ~$25K not $45K.
You could get a 2.5 for pretty cheap, and I really don't know the payments on any of these cars...

Not to most people.
2.5 bases at 33.1K

I just checked the calculators at bmwusa.com and acura.com

A Z4 would be about $100 more per month than an RSX, not bad

You toss off $100/mo as if it's nothing.

To the vast majority of people, $100/mo is significant.

Actually, I was wrong

Z4 base would be $438 per month. The RSX-S would be $374 for the same terms.

So, $65 more actually. Not bad.
