I recently had a problem with my sat nav MKII CD player in that it would not recognise the CD. Closer inspection noted that the bore of the CD was all cracked and broken. I managed to get another CD from ebay but I still kept getting the error message and the disc would keep ejecting. Spoke to BMW and they told me that it was the CD player that was at fault. I managed to get another MKII unit from ebay but when I connect this unit up the screen is blank. Spoke to the ebay member and he was puzzled as it was working when he removed it from his M3.

When I reconnect the original unit the screen works.

The only difference between the two units is that the one I recently purchased has the latest firmware installed.

Anyone got any suggestions on what the problem might be.

also, you may want to post your message on the BMWNAV yahoo group and the X5World navigation forum. Lots of experts there.

Are you sure the replacement Nav was from a car with colour monitor? It could be from a RAdio NAv (Business Nav) in which case it won't drive the monitor.
