what prep did you give barney before the waxing?

did you clay and/or polish? or just wash and wax?

looks great
No prep at all  The paint was already in good condition, it spent the whole winter in the garage, seen rarely rain. :eeps:

I'll put another coat tomorrow.
Okay Alex. You motivated me. I'm just waiting on the Pinnacle to arrive. I spent all day today with my buddy Porter Cable removing years of oxidation from the new old car. Finished with AIO and one coat of SG. I'll put a couple more coats of SG on before the Pinnacle shows up. This is a bad, out of focus picture (got nervous about the gas station thinking I was a terrorist so only took one shot), but the car looks completely different after getting rid of the oxidation; I didn't realize how bad it was until I started removing it. I can't wait to see what it looks like finished with Pinnacle.

I know people like seeing photos, but there's no way that they're indicative of how the car really looks. I washed my E46 this morning with its nearly 2-mo-old Klasse (only 1 coat of SG and AIO, no subsequent 'maintenance' other than this being its 2nd wash since) and from a photographing distance, it looked as shiny and reflective as anything I've ever seen posted here. :dunno:

Very true. But it's like a mental masturbatory thing. Posting the pic takes away some of the pain of 10 hours of work. :)

Alex-

Curious- have you tried p21S carnauba? If so, what did you think? Its still my favorite-- easy to apply and remove, and a great shine.

Rob, P21S is my next project. I've ordered a jar, supposed to be here sometime this week. I've read very good reviews about it. The price is good too.

Pinnacle Souveran $60 / P21S $30

I'll be interested in your comparison Alex, since I am currently using P21S and Souveran is WAY more expensive.

Thanks, I have a half a container of the P21s left that will get me through until middle of next summer. The Souveran is nice stuff but according to my wife I have spent all my allotted money for detailing products for the year. :(

I can't find any reference to the 15% discount on their ordering site. A link please...
(cheapest shipping is $7.95 :wow: )

My wife prolly thinks all those boxes coming from autopia.org is porn related. The sad thing is, I'd rather she not know the truth.

No seriously, my wife is awesome and I love her very much. (Just in case she ever reads these boards...)

Order placed.

Okay, I followed Alex B.'s lead and did the Pinnacle on top of a Klasse AIO and a few coats of Klasse SG.

It went on and off like buttah. And it smelled great, like bananas maybe?

My pics just don't do it justice, combination of mediocre camera, dying light, and sucky photographer. Oh yeah, a 13 year old car prolly has something to do with it too. :p

My turn to show off my car.
First I washed and clayed the car. Then I applied first layer of Zaino (Z-2).
