No story is unbelievable. One of my Disneyworld secret is to park in the wedding chapel lot (free of course) and start the day from the Grand Floridian. From there, we take the monorail to Disneyworld. We return by boat for lunch and to re-energize before going back for the rest of the day. That Seven sea beach is no longer safe from predators!

To be fair, the story isn't very detailed about this -> Mom may have been next to the playpen and Dad walking with the 2 yo who couldn't sit still. We are told Dad jumped into the water and tried to wrestle the 2 yo free from the gator, so he couldn't have been all that far away...

If this turns out to be one of those cases of parents drunkenly letting the kid run wild and free, I'll withdraw my statement, but so far we don't know a whole lot of the finer details in the reports I've seen.

Each article ive seen has different details. My info was from Cnn. Yeah he did jump in the water, but there were clear signs saying "no swimming". Parents fault.

This body of water is not for recreational swimming. "This is Florida, and it's not uncommon for alligators to be in bodies of water," he said. Declan Salcido, who's on vacation with relatives from San Jose, California, was coming back from Disney's Animal Kingdom when the first ambulance arrived. He said multiple "No Swimming" signs near the lagoon are visible "from any vantage point."

Can some please explain the logic? I am confused when the Cincinnati zoo possibly saved the boy's life by killing a gorilla people got mad and upset. But, nobody showed any sympathy when... Wildlife officials removed four alligators from the water and cut them open, but they found no sign of the boy.

We need to make a list of what is acceptable to kill without remorse. I'll start.

Kill at any time...
mosquitoes, ants, bugs, alligators, snakes, deer, wild pigs, birds, lizards, basically, anything we consider pests,

On the edge...
sharks, lions, elephants, bears, dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits, and most wild animals,

Never. These are sacred...
dolphins, porpoises, whales, pandas, any cute baby animal, and any animal we see that has intelligence, except fellow human beings

When we stayed a few days at a county RV park in Ft. Pierce/Port St. Lucie area, the little canal in the swamp behind the RV sites was clearly marked with signs BEWARE OF GATORS. All we ever saw was a few very small ones.

It happened long time ago when I was a park ranger, one time an alligator was biting man leg, I happened to be there, I knew the gator bite was strong, so I got a pen and poke the gator's eye and it opened its mouth in pain. and ran back into the water. The man leg's suffered a broken bone but he lived.
