My BMW is SUV X3 Model 2004.
When I compare it with Japanese SUV`s I find it very stiff and reactive to bumps of the road. It really doesn't smoothen the ride or in technical words, the shock absorbers and the springs don't soften the rough roads adequately.
Has anybody the same experience with this problem?
What solutions have been taken and what results?

The 2004 came with a stiffer suspension.

I happen to like it as it feels more like a sports car ride than an SUV.

There is no solution. You should have done your research before purchasing the vehicle and known that no X3, or any BMW for that matter, will ever produce a magic-carpet ride like any Japanese SUV. This is for better control and handling of the vehicle.

You could try going to smaller wheel size and taller sidewall. That would add a little more ride dampening.
