Snapped 2 pics today of my car next to my neighbor's 325is (I thought it was a 325e, but it turns out it was 325is... it has 64k miles on it).

My car looks enormous next to the E30. :D

In Before E46 bashing....

That is a nice E30 :yikes: Got any pics of the front? Your car is significantally lower with much shorter windows as well...

You want to feel up your neighbor?

I wonder if they make M68 replicas for the E30...hmm....

My wheels would make his brakes look unreasonably tiny. :D
Used to park next to my ex-boss's E30. My 328Ci looked huge!

I used to park my 323Ci next to a 635CSi in the garage, and the two cars were about the same size.

Are you shure about that?

The E24 has always looked longer to me :dunno: Maybe it's just an illusion due to the very sleek body. It certainly weighs quite a bit more than the E46...
for you 325 guys, size doesn't matter

just glad to have found where everyone went from bimmer.org:thumb:

No, the 635 was slightly longer, but not a whole heck of a lot. I remember one morning specifically when I parked right next to it thinking to myself "I've always wanted a 635 but the car I've got is almost the same size and 15 years newer."

There was an M6 and an E34 M5 at the autocross yesterday; both are great, classic cars, but neither one is an autocrosser. Both looked a little woozy out there on that tight track, and the 3.5L six (by modern standards) just doesn't have a huge amount of poke relative to their weight. It's amazing how much faster the E36s were.

Oh, and just FWIW, for a little while fast-time-of-the-day was held by an E46. ;)
Not feeling that chrome bumper on the 325is. Your E46 is a better car.

"For a little while"? Let me guess, you beat it? :p

I had a good weekend too. No M6s at the track http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5065

I will auto-x for the fist time at the Naval Air Station this weekend :)

Alee-

If that guy ever wants to sell that car, EMAIL ME RIGHT AWAY.

I've been on the lookout for a white E30 325is for a while. The "s"s are more rare than I would have thought. BTW, the "s" stands for SPORT.

I still miss my old E30 and would loe to pick up a clean copy. Typical used prices are $3-4K, so it's not like it'd be a huge investment. Parts are relatively cheap too.

Nope. Nor did I. One of the E36 M3s did though. But that E46 time WAS held by a board member, CD-55.

Check out this thread at Roadfly for a couple of pics-

You'd love this car too... it's pristine. :D 5M, for your pleasure.

I'll be sure to think of you if he ever wants to sell it. Big if, cause he loves his E30. :D
Any time I see the words "My xxxxx looks HUGE..." can't help but chuckle.

Sorry.

No, I'm not that quick yet; I just thought it was a bit funny in light of the recurring E36/E46 spats.
