The change to the DVD based system will occur with Sept production which is start of production for 2003 models. In other words, all 2003's with the navigation option (option code 609) will have the DVD based navigation. The interface will be identical to the 2002 navigation system; only the drive is changing to DVD from CD. From what my contacts at BMWNA have told me, nothing else about the system has changed.
