Replace with a 240gb SSD, I find the PNY type Amazon sell are great for less than £30. I can then remotely set up the new SSD for you.

Hello my friend, I bought an NBT Evo with a problem with the HD and replaced it with an SSD but when installing it in my car I noticed that my car does not have the OABR connector, do you have any solution to start the new SSD and install the NBT EVO in my bmw car 320i f30 2013

Yes, you need to wire the ETH wires to the OABR. I made some adapters for this very job.

I am very glad I found this thread. I have a BMW X5 F15 and my Hard Drive was making some noise and not starting, I was able to pull it out and unfortunately seems like I cannot fix it and will probably require being taken to a professional to fix the HDD. is there any way to buy another used one and will it work if plugged into my car. or should I try to fix mine instead. I am very confused on how to proceed and wondering if I could have some help please.
Thank you

Edit : I was able to learn more about the issue and seems like I will need to recreate the partitions in the new SSD and create the directories in the SSD before plugging into the NBT.

Hi Dayvg.

Would you mind please sending me a PM and assist me with fixing my HDD NBT EVO. I would love to discuss it further with you please.
I have identified the root cause of the issue, purchased a compatible SSD (Model mentioned in some other forums) and would need your help please with setting up the SSD.

Hello Dayvg,
I made this account just for this, I'm also in the midst of trying to replace HDD with a compatible SSD as my HDD has failed. I have found multiple threads and guides but some help would be much appreciated.

Dear BMW pros,
I have a doubt and Hope you can help me sorting it out. I desinfected my ac and sprayed the liquid as well into the vents in center console which resultated that liquid dropped on my NBT and damaged the HDD (no nav functionality). Everything else was working fine except of nav and map update was not working as well. Somehow HDD was readable but not writeable. Then I decided to try to Clone the HDD with the Method of sata extension cable startup in nbt then once hdd is unlocked I ran clonezilla on linux to clone it onto another HDD (same manufacturer HGST same size) which actually worked surprizingly fine. Now, new HDD installed and Map data is shown again, BT Audio, hanfsfree everything works except of the USB ports. It happened for sure after the HDD exchange and till now USB is not getting recognized. Neither map update stick nor music on USB. Can someone help me out with this issue? I do not think this is HW related regarding usb wiring. I am quite new in this BMW topic but this is how far I came. Please help me out. Anybody who can share hdd Information to create a clean HDD with the Hope that the usb will work again?

BR and greets from Germany
