I'm thinking of painting my stock rims black, smoking my tail lights, and tinting the windows. I have a 1990 525i and its black. Just wondering if anyone has any advice and/or some pictures of similar upgrades. I really appreciate any feedback
First off is your car in good working condition? Is the engine in working order? Is your cooling system working? You might want to work on the engine and major damage / repairs / upgrades first before working on the the cars actually look. Not trying be a A_ _ just don't want to see a E34 go blah. Get it working before showing it off.
But here are a list of mods you can do that wont effect your wallet.
Clear Parking Lights.
Paint your stock rims.
Clear looks nicer on black. Don't forget to research what your DMV or Laws say about tinting in your location. If you do tint stick to the law guide lines.
You can actually buy smoked front and rear head lights.
Smoked side markers.
Paint your chrome grille squares black.
Most of the smoked items can be found on ebay for a good deal.
Yeah man evertything thankfully runs great. I was fortunate enough to buy my e34 off a family friend who kept it mostly as a garage car. So I'm the second owner. Are you saying not to paint the rims or not to tint?
If you want to murder it out tint it but just double check about the tint laws in your area. So you dont get pulled over for legal tint or a fix it ticket. As for your rims go for it mans its pretty simple just find a clear coat removal sand and fix rashes , primer and paint away.
No it isn't my car but ive talked to the owner of the car. Cause I was asking for advise . I own a white 95" 540i got the car with put service records so starting from the bottom up. Gonna make. $500 dent in my wallet this coming Tuesday for rear brakes and rotors, oil change, and diff oil change.
Oh alright. And yeah dude the one downside to the bmw's is the cost to do anything to them butt they're worth it mine is 21 years old and runs better than cars more than half its age. They were way ahead of their time as far as engineering. That's why I'm trying all the do it myself stuff to save money. Hopefully yhe rims come out good. I'd love to see some pics of your car if you have.
Yeah cost is somewhat there. But i don't take my car to the dealership i bring it over to my friends dad who is a BMW specialist and a member of BMWCCA and has a really great rating and service overall for fixing BMWs. Well if your looking for parts check out Bavauto, autohauz, pelicanparts they've got good parts and prices. Just make sure the parts number match up.
got it on the flatbed due to fuel pump and radiator change.
Hey man I'm here for a little advice. I've painted my rims before it's easy tape them off and the buy some rim paint at auto zone and then spray them. Itt all depends on what u like. Let see some some pics of ur car
Ill try to get some pics up soon dont have any right now. But its a very standard 525i black with beige interior everything on it is stock except for the system i put in. so what do you think Tward any suggestions?
