Need some help ladies and gentlemen. I am tired of reading about bumble bees on bikes, washing cars with distilled and purified fairy urine, carbon fibered dog poo poo, idiots who block parking places, and Blue tooth phones whatever the H - E double hockey sticks they are, and night vision devices ( fer godssake don’t drive faster than you can react to what pops up in our headlights. If you need go faster than 75 at night you got major problems anyway. Ever see some of the deer in the hill country of Texas? Not if, but when.)
But I digress. I am emigrating from sunny California to Texas and need some help with my CD changer. I will have it occupied by “Bob Seeger and the Silver Bullet Bands Greatest Hits”, “George Thorogood and the Destroyers Greatest Hits” (a totally awesome CD!), “Bruce Springsteen’s Greatest Hits”, “Rod Stewart’s Greatest Hits”, “Gladys Knight and the Pips Greatest Hits”, and “Johnny Cash’s Greatest Hits.” Not bad for a geezer. These represent the first tier CDs. I am not allowing my daughter to bring any Rap music (an oxymoron if ever there was) in my fine automobile. My problem is that the first tier will only last for so long and where do I go from there? And this is where I need your help. So send me your ideas. If you want to send money that’s OK too. I will make sure it goes to the needy children at the Graham Bishop Home for musically deprived orphans and widows. While this is not sanctioned as a real charity, I am sure Malibu will do some of his pro-bono (or however you say it) magic and make it legal. Heck if Jack Abramhoff (or whatever his name is) can do it, why can’t we? We have operators standing by to take your calls and your money in small bills, no checks please. Gee I hope this starts somehting kewl!

Fort Worth for me, 10 years, too. If your taste includes jazz, the latest Spyro Gira "The Deep End" is a good choice for driving music.

I took a trip to Cabo San Lucas last year. We drove down from San Diego.

My friend has a Tahoe with the portable XM satellite unit. We listened to the entertainment channel which highlights the career of various music stars. It was quite interesting to listen to and passed time quickly. A good option when you get tired of just music.

Cobra, an amazing number of duplications in your list and mine! Especially in your "Relax" (aka New Age) selections. You're the first person I've seen with some of these choices.

Cut and paste. That's why some dups as these were some lists of stuff to take with me back before iPods and the like. I used to commute for many years in either 6 hour one way trip or a 12 hour one-way and I liked my music. I had many of these preloaded in the old Pioneer 6 CD cartridges. Even had lables on the stacks of these things. Finally quit using them when the 300 CD changers became available. I also had to dup things so my wife could have same stuff at home, hence some of the lists were just to keep what I had already dupped straight. I collected stuff I would hear playing in hotels or hostels I stayed in places like Dutch Harbor in the Aleutians, Jerez, Spain; Tromso, Norway; St. Mawgans, Great Britan; Sasebo, Japan or some such place. You should have seen me pouring through the Towers record shops in Glasgow, London, or D.C. :loco: I have several lists and just grabbed at those that were handy. I have one master alphabetical list, mainly to keep from buying something I already had, although I think the last dozen or so acquisitions have not yet made in the list.

This will make me the oldest (living) 6er owner in California.

I will start off the pledge drive by donating the first dollar and matching all contributions up to another dollar. WHen are you leaving GB? Do you think we can organize a 6er meet before you go? And have somebody show up other than just me and Beewang?

Hey Mal, I can't remember from the post a while ago, but at 52, does that mean that I'm #2 in CA? If my car gets here in time would love to take a drive to southern California and increase the number of participants in the next 6er meet.

Thanks. I leave on the weekend of the 11th. I could come this Sunday or next Sunday. I realy would like to meet. Couldn't do it in December. The last week is going to be not much fun . I'd rather have my gums scraped than move. I'd be more than glad to come your way. Lets do it:grouphug:

Well who the heck is Dead can Dance anyway? Is it a song or a band? Never heard of them.
And Rod Stewart? Would never have thought that of him. Hmphh.
You ae dealing with a guy who has no television. Last TV I watched was when All in the Family was still on. Archies's my kinda guy anyway. Rents DVDs when they get on the cheap side of the DVD rental place. Has no situational awareness of the politically correct side of society and whose wife has to start out converations with "What he meant to say was...."

Gentlemens
It came to me this afternoon that a meet...your bazillionth and my first...would be a good idea. It came to me that we should meet at the Village Roasters in Woodland Hills or the Starbucks next to King's Fish House at the Commons in Calabasas. Most importantly, they are close to Mulholland Highway and some good roads to drive. I think it may be handy for Mal, Beewang and other assorted low-lifes to be able to make it there. God knows how far it is from the stumps though. Will need some navigational assistance. I have the only Titanium Silver with Black interior, non-chromed wheels, 645 Coupe with a manual transmission in the Peoples Republic of California so you won't have a problem figuring out who I am. How does 9:30 A.M. sound?

It came to me this afternoon that a meet...your bazillionth and my first...would be a good idea. It came to me that we should meet at the Village Roasters in Woodland Hills or the Starbucks next to King's Fish House at the Commons in Calabasas. Most importantly, they are close to Mulholland Highway and some good roads to drive. I think it may be handy for Mal, Beewang and other assorted low-lifes to be able to make it there. GB - I thought you were 62. How can you retire at 52? I have just posted a brand new thread, suggesting a slightly later time. (I have another obligation earlier in the morning.)

And, I have rtandomly suggested the Starbucks at the Calabasas Commons which is where Beewang and I had the last 6er meet. We had 100% attendance.

Calabasas Commons on Calabasas Road in Calabasas. (Note the pattern?) :google: it and you will see where it is and how to get there. And RSVP on my thread, just started.

Telephone, Telegraph, Tell a Woman, Telemann

I have a new 4-disk collection of Georg Philip Telemann's concertos for trumpets here. Just came in today. I will lend them to you if you want some real music, Mr. B.

Oh, I know, Grimmy! Where is your Phantom of the Opera stuff? Those were the days, cruisin' to the O Club for lunch, in the literally hot seat, groovin' to the Andrew Lloyd Webber
