my exhaust tips have lost their shine, and are looking a little rusty, and i want to replace them.

is this something that can be easily removed and replaced by a mechanic, or are the welded on there and will require a bit of work.

and finally. where can i find OEM exhaust tips? I do not want the regular chrome ones, i was looking to get black ones if they have them.

Thanks

I replaced mine with OEM chrome tips, some people were able to twist and pull them off but I needed to uses a mallet and tap them out from behind http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1260470.

While this thread is not for F10 I referenced it when I was trying to figure out how to remove them since the twist pull method wasn't working for me - http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1004975

Call the dealer and have them give you the part #'s you should be able to find them online for cheaper.

They will clean up back to new condition with some metal polish! I've seen some very grubby exhausts go back to completely clean/shiny after only 20 mins with some brasso. Try this first before you spend $$$

in the UK we have something branded as brasso. it's just household metal polish for doing belt buckles and the like, found in most homes
