Hello Fellas,

I've already used the search feature and you guys here really know your stuff! My questions are mostly aimed at the "veterans" here. As soon as I get "up to speed" so to speak on detailling I'll be more than happy to contribute.

My questions are..........

I want the BEST product for each scenario for my car.

-What is the best leather car seat cleaner/conditioner?
-What's the best wax /polymer?
-What's the best cleaner/conditioner for the rubber molding around the windows, hood, trunk, etc.?
-What's the best wheel/ tire cleaner/conditioner?
-The best for the dash/vinyl /plastics in the interior?
-The best engine cleaner /conditioner?

-Pros and cons of a car bra?
-Using a car cover- How often do you use one?
-How do you protect your car from parking lot nicks and dings without hiring a security guard to sit next to your car every time you go somewhere?

I do prefer a good smelling(i.e.-Zaino) product and a product with a high UV sun protection(i.e.-303 Aerospace Protectant)

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Not to put a damper on your enthusiasm, but there is no best product per se. Each has it strengths and weaknesses. If there really were one best product for each of your scenarious, there wouldn't be so much conflicting info and opinion on this board and all the others, and there wouldn't be such a plethora of products available.

Now let the fun begin.......

These are religious issues. My religion is as follows:

Best wax/polymer = Zaino
Best Rubber Cleaner = One Grand
Best Wheel Cleaner = P21S Gel
Best Tire Cleaner = McGuires
Best Dash Cleaner = 303 Aeorospace Protectant
Best Leather Cleaner = Lexol
Best Engine Cleaner = Why?

See my web site for other products: http://www.bariaur.com/e39/detailing.html

All of the following are Griots Garage products:

Best wax = Best of Show wax
Best Rubber Cleaner = Rubber claener
Best Wheel Cleaner = Wheel cleaner
Best Dash Cleaner = Vinyl and rubber dressing
Best Leather Cleaner = Leather care
Best Engine Cleaner = Engine cleaner

With one exception:
Best Tire Cleaner = McGuires Endurance

My choices for what they are worth...

Best Wax: One Grand Blitz Wax
Best Wheel Cleaner: P21S Gel wheel Cleaner
Best Dash Cleaner: Lexol Vinylex
Engine Cleaner: Well aimed spray of water (mine only gets dusty and not much other oil based gunk to deal with)

Thanks for the feedback guys...... really appreciate it. I really want a quiet compressor. My neighbors will complain if it's loud. I heard a small pancake one and it was VERY LOUD. May go bigger.... maybe 15 gallons.

M4- special edition.

Sorry, don't like Girot's products.

Engine bay cleaning is important to me, your mileage may vary.

Mother's back-to black for the delicate rubber molding trim?
