Hey guys, my first post and just purchased a 2011 BMW x5 xdrive35i premium.

I was trying to plug my iPhone 6 into the USB and it said it wasnt supported. Also I dont have Bluetooth Audio for the car. But I have Bluetooth connectivity for my phone.

That's odd, according to the vin search it says you have option 6FL (USB Audio Interface) maybe try using another lightening cable and try to see whether that solves the problem. Maybe it's the wire that's the issue. Bluetooth audio came out at a later production so it won't be on your car. You have two options, either 1. Get a Combox retrofit, or 2. Blackberry makes a device called the Music Gateway that plugs into both the USB and AUX ports and act as a Bluetooth device (you won't be able to control it from your steering wheel but it's better than nothing).

The USB in your X5 was designed to work with an ipod with the old dock connector. It is not going to work or even charge your 6. I use the Tune to air. It gets you bluetooth audio and makes the BMW think an ipod is connected. Are you using the factory lightning cable for the Iphone 6, apparently iphones can detect genuine cables, and if it isn't it wont charge or use. My iphone 6 charges just fine in the USB slots using the original lightning cable.
