I think so. If you look at the previous designs, most of the BMWs have the shark nose.

But since Bangle is at the work, it must be something 'BIG'

I think the concept of the E46 was already there as he joined BMW, I'm not sure though.

If you look at his previous designs (Fiat Multipla, Fiat Barchetta) and the works at BMW, it's very unlikely that he designed the E46.
