My fiancee and I picked up our new 2006 X3 today.

Everything is great, and we are excited. On the drive home, I noticed the steering wheel buttons were not working (volume, channel change, air circulation, cruise). Given this car had 4 miles on brand new, we are disappointed. This is my 3rd BMW and I have not had this problem before.

Dealer said its a programming issue, and to bring it back in the morning for reprogramming.

Anyone else have this?

Will keep you posted on this supposed "quick fix" in the am

Just picked up my X3 lst week. Steering wheel buttons work just fine. I did notice though that they needed to be pressed harder than what I am use to from my last car. So just make sure this is not the issue - I doubt it - but it would save you a trip backto the dealer.
