Nitrogen filled tires is a SCAM. Air is 70+% nitrogen. Air and nitrogen follow the Ideal Gas Law PV=nRT closely enough. 1 psi/10°F is a good thumb rule, better than your tire pressure gauge.

Winter is coming, temperatures are falling, and the gullible credulous are worrying.

I have a 2,000 mile road trip coming up in a couple of weeks and I'll set my winter tire pressures then.

Actually, it's closer to 80%, but your point remains.

I've been saying the same thing about 'pure' nitrogen fills for tires for a long time now. Pretty amazing how long it takes for facts to catch up with slick marketing claims, though...

I have a really neat device in my garage that solves all of my low tire pressure warnings. I call this device an air compressor. :thumbup:

I always chuckle when someone corrects doug on science stuff, since he is a nuclear engineer. He normally just rounds up / down things when he explains them to us, but he definitely knows all of the precise details.

Well, not to take anything away from Doug, or brag or anything, but I'm probably more of an expert than he is in this particular realm; I'm an aerospace engineer... :angel:

I'm sure Doug knows far more than I do about his engineering specialty!
