I've got an 330i schedule for production the week of Nov. 1. Asked my sales rep about a non-smoker package, and he claims it doesn't exist on any BMW model! I've seen a list of part numbers you can buy to retrofit storage cubbies for the ashtrays, and blank plugs to replace the cigarette lighter, but don't have an option # for getting the car built that way in the first place.

Can anyone help me educate my sales guy?

many thanks,

RPO 441 = 'Smoker's Package'

The designation for the option is 441. You should be able to delete it, but I don't know if anyone has actually done it with a US-spec car.

Be appraised, though, it's my understanding that in order to get the extra space of the larger storage trays, the little lights are eliminated.

I just yanked the cigarette 'snuffers' out of the ashtrays. You get a 'little' extra space, and you get to keep the lights.

Deleting option 441 also deletes the cigarette lighter element (a plastic plug replaces it), although the receptacle itself remains.
