Are you sure that the Navi database that you have actually contain speed informations? If not, I believe that is the culpit. My former E.class showed the same message "Not available in this country" until the new Navi data with speed informations for my country was implemented. Just a suggestion.

Mobil,

I dont get that error any more aftre changing to Gen2 (Assuming these are diiferent generation of Speed limit info) we get error only if we select gen1.
May be we will get default spped limits if we updgrade the data base but my assumption is it should have that capabilty already as the speed limit thing is there in US from 2010

@Erregend;
Thanks for confirming. The status bar referring to the psdzdata can easily be confirmed by briefly loading a different set of psdzdata for another chassis, and see what it displays.

As for KOMBI-->3000 Anzeige_Konfiguration-->BC_V_KORREKTUR, I would not expect to see a difference unless your speedometer and actual speed, presumably GPS, are truly different.

@DreamCar;
Think of a VO Option Code (e.g. 8TH) as a container of settings. You add something to the VO, then code all modules, and it changes all the required modules and parameters to support the newly added option at once. You can still get there without actually changing the VO and manually hunting and pecking your way through each module changing each individual parameter, although it is much harder and time consuming, and there is no guarantee you catch everything you need. Hans probably has got all or most of it hunting and pecking at it, but the VO is the easier and safer bet.

I think when you write the new FA to the car, all it does is store that FA in Flash Memory of two of the modules pursuant to my earlier post on the subject. I am not sure which modules, for the E60 it was the CAS and LMA Modules; however that's largely irrelevant. What still needs to happen is that after it is written to whatever two modules the F10 stores the VO in, all modules need to be coded to apply the new VO parameters.

In the USA, BMW "adjusts" our speedo/HUD displays to be about 3% higher than actual speed.
In E46 you could get into test mode and display the actual speed. I assumed that this is what KORREKTUR speed was. Maybe it is really not that at all.

@DreamCar,

Sorry, I don't off the top of my head, and without access to E-Sys for the time being, I can't begin to figure it out.

Maybe Sean knows.

@ImSW1;

Any thoughts on how to code all the modules in E-Sys after writing the VO to the car?

Experiencing a bit of a setback...My car won't give me an IP address. ZGW_SEARCH comes up blank. 1st time this happens. Just debugged the cable and connections seem to be fine. I'm installing E-sys in a different laptop now.

Mildly worried that I FUBAR my car...

The car does not do DHCP so laptop falls back to a default 169.x.y.z IP address that the car will work with.

If you have disabled that ability in the laptop, you will not get an IP address.

Note that it can take several seconds to fall back. Be patient.

1StBimmer,

Dont worry i got the same error couple of times
Just do a clean startup ... Shut downn the car, Close teh Esys completely and start over again...

And why you are searching every time? just click on connect it will tell if it cant find teh car (No VIN).

#609 ·
@1STBimmer; ZGW_SEARCH.exe is written for 32-Bit WinXP. If you are using anything else, particularly Win7 64-Bit, right-click on ZGW_SEARCH.exe and set it to run in the XP SP3 compatibility mode. Even if ZGW_SEARCH.exe doesn't end up working, you do not need it to code. It is informational only.

DearCar,

As soon as I get my cable ready (hopefully tomorrow), I can provide you with an unchanged KAFAS file. Just provide me with instruction on how to save it.
