So which Z4 would you get??
OK. Kewl.
So here's my question to the board. Suppose you "needed" a Z4 as soon as possible. You were going to lease it and wanted to spend as little as possible to get one, but with "minimal" (which is different than "zero") options. You did not intend to drive it really... you were more interested in using it for product development.
What would you get??
I (we) are thinking:
- 2.5i
- Jet Black (no metallic paint charge, leased so who cares about swirls)
- Black top
- Heated seats (all roadsters need these in our experience)
- Cutter Motors Delivery
Black or silver with black interior are ideal because they will show off eye-catching leather colors best (ie: Kyalami or Evergreen trim). We know from HC that the roll hoops on The 4 are now welded and part of the frame of the car. No bolts. The covers are plastic and 2 halves. This means easy (inexpensive) leather hoop covers and integrated windcreens will be possible.
I am undecided on leather versus vinylette versus cloth-leather. It
appears you need to get prem pkg in order to get full leather. Prem pkg is definitely out.
All of the trim can be covered in leather like the Dan Wu Wife E46 car. Kool.
One nice deal on The 4 is that the Z3 had base seats and sport seats. It appears all of The 4's seats are sport. Just power or non-power and one additional adjustment... But I could be wrong here. Order guides and brochures can be misleading. This means that potentially I wouldn't necessarily even bother with sport package.
No cruise. No OBC. No power top. No Carver Technology money pit.
