During a recent oil change I noticed that the cap of the oil filter housing seemed unusual in that there wasn't that part where the small oring fits. Simply a cap with no module at all, for lack of proper terminology. I noticed a similar cap which seemed proper for an e46 but not for e90 N54 engine of my 2007 335i. The service tech only used the large oring/gasket and not the smaller one that came with the oil filter because no fitting. Tech said myself car didn't use it although I've seen many video's of oil changes for same year 335i with type cap of which the two orings were necessary. Any enlightenment would be much appreciated.
