Hi all

I have noticed in the past that my oil level sensor was informing me that I had two much oil in my engine but when I checked it with the dipstick the oil level was correct.

The other day my oil pressure warning light flashed so I checked my oil and to my horror the dipstick did not register any oil at all. I added 2 litres, 4 US pints, and the oil still did not register on the dipstick so I added another two litres which did register about half way up the dipstick. Engine saved.

I look up replacing the sensor, which seems easy enough, but the part number comes with a warning which states there are other checks to be made before the sensor is replaced.

Does anyone know what these other checks could be?

"Before replacing the oil level sensor

Thanks in advance.
