Any thoughts on fully synthetic oil? My car has 62K and I'm planning on doing more frequent oil changes. Do I really need the BMW oil. Castrol or Mobile 1 difference? Lubrimoli? :dunno:

I stick to Casrol Edge. Though it did not meet LL01 it is a quality oil designed for longer intervals. Their 0w40 meets LL01 spec though if you are not using 5w30. This is on my e66. It was also cheaper than Lubro Moly which I use on my ///M3. I change both cars every 5-7k depending on driving habits over those months. Most of my driving is all highway.

Highly doubt anyone can get Mobil 1 0W40 meets LL-01 now, I switch to Castrol EDGE 0W40 meets LL-01 although User's manual said use Castrol 5W30 as I have checked all three Castrol 5W30's at my local auto store [Canada] none show LL-01 specification on the back label.

Liqui Moly carry one or two kinds 5W40 full synthetic with LL-01 but never try.
