Hello,
I am changing my oil separator on my 2005 X5. Any pictures, directions you can post would be most helpful. I have taken out the air box...not sure where I'd go from there. Thank you.

Are you going to give it a try? Do you want pictures? You where on the other thread so I thought I would help start yours.

Do you have a 3.0?

5800,
Yes. I have a 3.0.
I took out the air box, DISA valve today. The elbow boot is a big pain...tried to remove the elbow from the top and from the bottom but have not been sucessful.. yet. I'll try again tomorrow. May need a long screw driver to remove from the bottom. How did you get it off?

Picture or any guidance would help. Thanks.

man, those oil seperators are a pain to get off. after removing everything, its buried under the intake manifold. theres a hose that comes up from the oil sep. i remember removing that. you would have to grab on to it and then turn it to unlock it. i believe clockwise to unlock it. do you have the new part with you? if i can remember the bottom unlocks and pops out. the first time i did it it took me like 2 hours.
