I there any way to get it to go off after placing the brake pads without going to the dealer or a mechanic shop? I have a scanner to reset the check engine light, oil change light and inspection light.
I bought a tool from Bavarian Technic and I can reset all my CBS data to any value I like (Condition Based Service)
I bought it off eBay including a laptop pc for $600.
You can buy an adapter for around $250 off eBay that will do it for you also........
It's up to you which one you want to use......
Search the DIY section to reset the light in the NAV screen. If you did not replace the sensor while replacing the pads, you can not reset the light. If the ckt is open, there is a fail safe built into the system.
