One LAST take on team order...

Okay, this is the last take and I will stop obsessing about this since I'm not going to follow F1 this season anyway.

Ferrari's rationale is that ANYTHING can happen in the rest of the season and they want Michael to have as many points as possible toward the driver's championship. Let's take this argument further and examine their logic. What IF something does happen to Michael Schumaker in the next race or two? Not that I would wish this upon anyone but what if Michael suffers a season ending injury? All of a sudden this strategy of theirs of denying Reubens points to give to Michael is going to backfire on them because Reubens simply hasn't scored enough points to stay ahead of the Williams team of JPM and Ralf Schumaker. If something DOES happen to Michael in the near future they would be guaranteed NOT to get the Driver's Championship because RB is so far behind. Now, Austria would have given RB a chance to make up a lot of ground on the Williams while still stretching MS's lead over them. If, worse case scenario, MS does get hurt for whatever reason, with how well balanced the Ferrari chasis is there's still a good chance RB may catch JPM if he managed to score 10 points last week rather than 6.

If there's any JUSTICE in this world, Michael Schumaker would get seriously hurt in the next race, and Ferrari would effectively take themselves out of both Constructors and Driver's championship by their boneheaded move on the last race, thus ending ABRUPTLY Ferrari's dominance in the past 3 years.

And if history is any indicator, Ferrari's reign will soon end.

I think the knee injury of last year scared them and they want the 5th championship for MS.
Kinda sad when he can't do it by driving/winning...especially vs his own teammate

Why sad ? How many times were Barrichelo REALLY faster then Schumacher since they're racing in the same team ?

I think RB has demonstrated he can beat MS.

It's not enough to demonstrate it a few times. He needs to prove it that he CAN win a championship, then he'll get the #1.

Agreed but how can he prove it when the team tells him to pull aside and let Michael by???

Haus, I think you understand what I was trying to say, no ?

Before the Austrian Grand Prix, Michael had 44 points and Barrichelo 6. Michael finished all the first 5 races, Barrichelo could only finished once. (3 DNF, 1 DNS and 1 second place)

Yup, us Krauts think alike. My point is though when he does finish he has to step aside for Michael.

It's like asking "Whos better Ralf or JPM?"

I'm no expert

But ins't the deck stacked a little in Micheal's favor. On teams where there is clearly a #1 driver (Williams operates differently, letting 2 teams compete), doesn't that driver get dibs on the best car the team has running that weekend?

Wow, Hack! You raise a lot of good points but to wish serious injury upon someone, damn! that's messed up :tsk:

ROGER THAT:lmao:

I don't know what has gotten in to Hack. MS is one of the best drivers in history, why so much hate?:bawling:

I was in the middle of commenting to that when my boss walked in to drag me into a meeting. :(

I feel there's a little bit of mis-communication here. Earlier in my post I stated that I would not wish such matter to happen to anyone, much less M.S. I was trying to point out that if there's any sort of justice, Ferrari's move would backfire later on in the season...And given the recent history of F1 not having same WDC/WCC combo for more than 3 straight years, statiscally it is against Ferrari and MS.

Believe me, there are malicious bones in my body but in no way do I wish MS hurt.

What I think would serve Ferrari right is if Michael wins his fifth championship by less than the points gifted to him by Rubens. His tying Fangio would forever be tainted. People will always say had Rubens not moved over Michael wouldn't have equaled Fangio. Of course in Fangio's day the #2 driver would actually pull into the pits and give up his CAR to the #1 driver if that driver developed a problem. In fact I think Fangio won one of his WC just that way.
