P0335 Code - Crankshaft Position Sensor - Hard to Replace?

On a LHD car, the crank sensor is on the driver's side. Not sure how you'd access it from the passenger side. I've also heard about removing the starter from under the car (sits right above rank sensor) but it's not possible on this motor. Might have been for older models.

I've decided to tackle this job today. Wish me luck!

fdriller9, any issues pushing the sensor back in so that it seats properly with the o-ring? How did you just it in? Extension and socket or with the same angled needle nose pliers?
Wet the oring with a thin film of motor oil and use the pliers to push it in.

You will want to rotate the sensor back and forth until it seats.

You sir, are my hero. You should do a DIY video/write-up. I think many would find this valuable.

haha it's more or less what CALWATERBOY posted but the guide doesn't tell you to use pliers which is key

I'm able to replace this sensor in about 30 mins.

Use a swivel joint to remove the torx bolt and a magnet to grab the bolt.

Then use a set of angled needle pose pliers to finesse the sensor out of the location, then you can disconnect the harness.

When replacing, clean the area with a paper towel wrapped around a screw driver. Connect the harness to the sensor and then finesse the sensor back into place.

All you need to remove is the airbox.
