Paris drop off: how long did it take before you got on a boat?

Dropped off at TT in Paris on 07/27. They were strictly business, was unable to get any info from them at all. Whereas at login logout I had an email from Jacquiline in less than a week. Not showing up anywhere in the usual tracking places...their lot was completely full though.

Dropped mine off yesterday in Nice and would love to hear if there is a way to track the trucking....
Dropping off in Paris 9/14 and would like to know as well!
I dropped off at Paris / TT on July 10th, loaded on ship in Bremerhaven on July 21st, scheduled to port in Brunswick, GA on August 10th. I'm hoping to see my car around August 20th. The only thing you can do at this point is check the Wallenius Wilhelsen site every day with your VIN. Mine didn't show up on the site until the day it loaded. From there you can track you vessel on marine traffic.com when it is close to shore, then sailwx.info when crossing the Atlantic.

The folks at TT told me that my car was guaranteed to leave their lot within 7 days. So I really have no idea how long it was there versus sitting at the port in Bremerhaven. However, if you look at Bremerhaven using the satellite view on Google maps you will understand why it takes a while to get loaded. There are lots and lots of cars there!

Hang in there!

Update this thread when you get the news about when your car is on a boat. Would love to know how long it takes you since I will be dropping in Paris as well. My guess is its a crap shoot. If your timing is right they could literally take your car and immediately load onto a truck or you could drop you car off minutes after a truck leaves and be stuck sitting there for a week. And then of course there is the potential wait at the docks....
While not from Paris, I dropped my 535i off in AMS on June 26, arrived Brunswick 7/30, cleared customs and VPC in 2 days, confirmed PCD of 8/22. A little less than 8 weeks total from drop off. According to the brochure, it was to take 10-12 weeks to PCD. They made it two weeks early.

Just FYI....

Andrew
Will do.
Just got back into the US and through customs. Will update my delivery thread soon.

We dropped off in Paris back in July, 2010 and it took about two weeks to get on the boat. The folks there at the drop off point were very nice and helpful. Not overly outgoing as we found most Parisians to be but they did their job efficiently as best we could tell. Their lot was full of all type cars when we dropped off.
I notice you're from Dallas; me too. If you don't mind my asking, which dealership did you use?
We dropped off at Charles DeGaulle at the end of May and the car reached the dealership in Massachusettes in about seven weeks.
Dropping off in Nice. Interested in experience and delivery time as well.
GKS,

I used Garyln Shelton in Temple and they gave me good deal. As you probably know, none of the Dallas dealers care about selling cars via ED, so they aren't willing to deal. They were super easy to deal with, straight shooters and no gimmicks. I might have saved 250-500 by going with Adrian, but the savings weren't worth it if I had to buy a plane ticket and drive 9 hours. Temple is 120 miles from my house...

I used Santiago at Classic BMW for both of mine - no problems at all...
Paris Drop Off

I dropped my 328i off in Paris on July 9 and was given the same story that it could remain on their lot for up to seven days. Checked the status and it was loaded on the Don Juan on July 25, set to arrive in New York on August 9. Looks like I should have my car before Labor Day.
I've done two EDs through Steve Grage at BMW of NWA in Rogers Arkansas, about a 4.5 hour drive from Dallas. He has been pretty fair to deal with if you are not satisfied with the folks in the Dallas area.
Dropped our car off in Paris on 5/31, it was loaded on a boat on 6/20, offloaded at Port Hueneme on 7/15 and arrived at the dealer on 7/30.
Man it looks like average is 3 weeks from drop off to on boat. That sucks.
Hi guys -

I dropped my car off in Nice a few weeks ago. July 20th drop off, it was on the boat 8/1 and expected to reach the States 8/15. Not sure how long I'll have after that.
Just goes to show how much of this is luck. D/O just before the truck leaves and hit the port as the ship sails and you're golden. Miss either or both by just a day and it can add a week or more.

You're exactly right.

When I dropped it off on a Friday the gentleman told me the truck wasn't coming until the following week.

Very lucky
