Here are a few shots of the 2012 650i Convertible I took at the Canadian International Auto Show (Toronto) a few weeks ago.

I guess BMW did not trust us rabid Canadians - they had the car behind a glass barrier.

BTW i can tell they totally ransacked the 5/7 series parts bin for the interior and door handles. I recognize most of those pieces lol.
No surprise - standard practice for most automakers. I really like the interior of the new 6.

Thanks for the shots Yorgi. Like you, I have to see it in person to get the feel of it. The interior I believe everyone will agree is top notch but the exterior still don't grab me as much just by seeing it in the pictures. Can't wait to check it out once it hits the show rooms here.

Thanks for the pics! This is exactly the color combo I ordered so it was nice to see that BMW thinks it looks okay too.

Mine will have a clutch pedal though....

I have a production number now but I keep coming back to these gorgeous photos for my "fix". I'm hoping to see and drive one of the new 650's soon to be certain I want to drop 100 large on a BMW daily driver.BMW NA is still saying no HUD without the rest of the package, but will keep pestering them since it seems to be a stand alone option elsewhere the world.

I'm hoping the fine line oak goes better with the cinnamon interior than the gray poplar in this show car.

Only if it were a hardtop... I would have traded my 328i and spend my savings for that awesome car.

I went onto Canadian BMW website and built the car. And I noticed the standard leather is Dakota leather... Better leather is optional as a part of $4500 package, which includes 20-way seat adjustments, heated/cooled seats and massage seats.

I have the upgraded leather in my current 650 - what a difference from the "regular" leather. Is it worth $4500? Not sure, but I will say it is a much nicer quality of product.

On the US site Nappa leather is standard, and the optional seats include active and ventilated features... but no stand alone or bundled leather upgrade appears to be offered.

Ugly car.

Sorry. Terrible design in my opinion.

Looks like a box. Nothing aesthetically appealing about this design at all.

Utterly loses its angry, sporty feel.

Fail.

Ahhh the good old days (below)

-BB-

PS: Where the hell are people going to put their legs in the back seat? Those front seats are not even pushed back very far!

Rear legroom is actually up according to BMW but just like the E64, don't attempt to put anyone you like in the back seats.

Hopefully the tuners can make the new car look a little more interesting like the 6ers you are showing in those pics. The new M6 should be a big improvement over the 650i.
