Just picked my car up tonight after having my Passport installed. Came out great! Had the led installed behind the glass in the dash and the hand control installed by the AC controls. See pics attached. My car is a f10 550iX M Sport. Now I am happy. Oh, also had the tint done at 50%. Pics were taking from my BB torch at night so sorry for the poor clarity.

Looks very clean although I kinda wish the readout was not blue tinted. From your perspective how conspicuous is it ?

Positioning of the control module is also very clean. I should be getting my 550i M-sport by tomorrow. Seems like a day by day slip but am hopeful.

I intend to have 9500ci put in as well, especially with the M-sport temptation:drive:. How much did the install cost you ? I've been quotes $2199.

looks good. does the ci have laser protection?

I agree - I wish the readout was red, not blue. I love the placement of the readout. Right in the line of sight. They wanted to put it above the rear view mirror and I insisted on this location. Place charged me $850 just for the installation. I already owned the 9500 as it was removed from my last BMW. Definitely expensive but they did an awesome job - very clean.

Yes, the 9500 has laser detection and defuser for both front and rear.

If you want a red display, I would recommend the Beltronics STI-R Plus. It is a 9500ci with red display and without the laser shifters. Its about $400 less than the 9500ci. The Escort Laser Shifters are pretty weak, so you are better off putting the difference towards a Laser Interceptor anyway.

Basic installs are typically $1500-1800 all in. $1800 would be a basic install at a high end shop. Remember they buy the radar detector from Escort at wholesale.

My install was $2300, but they built the display into the mirror, and installed the control switch into a retractable compartment.

I wonder how many rattles they introduced by taking off and putting back all those panels and if any scratches\scuff were put on as well.
It's not hard to do it without causing rattles.

These guys spent about 10 hours on this install. I stopped in several times to observe. Solid work but for a price.
where did you locate the GPS reciever and have you downloaded red-light locations. Whats your experience been since you've had the 9500ci in previous BMW's.

I believe they put the GPS under the dash. In my last BMW it was mounted ontop of the trunk. Glad it is hidden now and seems to work well. Haven't updated the software yet but hope to soon.

this is bringing up an old thread but since i just got my m3 equipped wanted to ask what people think. Cliff from LI said that the laser jammers on the 9500 ci + the LI jammers should not be on at the same time as they may not properly shift the laser. has anyone had this occur?
