I was replacing my valve covers on my 98 740iL and decided they looked terrible. I took them to my local powder coating shop and $120 later they look 90% better. A few spots remained a little rough looking due to the porous nature of Magnesium but for the price I love the results. Now I have to carve out time to put them back on. Enjoy!

Here are the final product pics. It turned out much better than I expected. Putting the valve covers back on was challenging with the glycerin coating. I really do not agree with this step after completing the job and reading about it. I plan to relocate the red wire that goes to my angel eyes and put back in the OEM air filter assembly. Then it will look like new.
